Online exams not possible, says DyCM Ashwath Narayan

Bengaluru: Deputy Chief Minister and Higher Education Minister Dr CN Ashwath Narayan clarified that online classes will start for the next academic year (2021-22), however, online examinations cannot be conducted.

Speaking to the reporters after a COVID-19-related meeting here on Monday, he said, “Students and parents are demanding online examinations but it is not possible in our State presently. Only some deemed universities here are conducting online examinations.”

He added that there will a slight variation in the schedule of the graduate, postgraduate, diploma and engineering examinations in the State due to the ongoing road transport corporations’ employees strike.

“Offline classes will also be started once the pandemic is under control. Students can then choose either offline or online classes,” he said.
