Organisations provide assistance cutting across communal lines

Mangaluru: Though there exists disagreement on small matters between groups and communities, during natural calamities, it loses its importance. The thought that all our lives are one and humanity prevails.

A similar environment was witnessed on Tuesday when Mangaluru trembled under heavy rains. Youth belonging to various organizations rushed to provide assistance to the needy irrespective of cast and creed, which is special.

Rashtriya Swayam Sevak organized to provide free lodging and food facility at Sangha Niketan in Mannagudda for the people stranded due to the torrential rains. Workers of different Hindu organizations including Bajarangdal and VHP provided assistance. Free food facility was provided to more than 500 people under the leadership of MLA Vedavyas Kamath.

Muslim youth cleaned Koragajja Gudi

The Muslim youth of Pandeshwar have set an example by removing water and cleaning the inundated Koragajja Gudi in Pandeshwar. The rain water has entered and submerged the Koragajja Gudi situated near the railway gate at Pandeshwar. The youth who noticed this, assisted in removing water from the Gudi and cleaning it up, there by setting an example of friendly existence.

Humanitarian work by Popular Front

The youth of Popular Front delivered humanitarian support by providing drinking water to 20 houses along the second cross of Subhash Nagar in Pandeshwar. There residents of this region belong Hindu, Muslim and other religions. Due to damage the residents were suffering from lack of drinking water. On this occasion, the youth of this organization provided drinking water cans to everyone.
