Speaking at a press conference here, Eshwarappa alleged that Hindu shrines and holy places, including those in Ayodhya, Kashi, and Mathura, were destroyed to build mosques by the invaders. “Now, evidence is being unearthed in the excavations. The finding of a 12 feet Shivling in Kashi is a clear example of this,” he said.
Further, he claimed that Aurangzeb demolished the Kasi Vishwanath Temple about 350 years ago. Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar rebuilt the shrine about 110 years after this, he added.
Eshwarappa said the Hindu society can no longer be silent on this issue. “Legal action will be taken to reclaim the land where mosques were built by demolishing Hindu temples in Karnataka. It is our duty to correct the historical injustice,” he said.
