Speaking to the media on Sunday, the Panchamasali district president B M Patil said, “Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai must act upon the assurance that he has given the community leaders of including the Panchamasali community under the 2A reservation category. Regarding this, we’ll be holding a padayatra under the leadership of Jagadguru Basava Jaya Mruthyunjaya Swamiji from Savadatti to Belagavi on December 19. On December 22 we will be holding a huge conference in land area spread across 100 acres in Belagavi. We are expecting 25 lakh, people, out of 1.40 crore population of the community state-wide, to join the padayatra.”
He warned the Bommai-led Karnataka Government by saying, “We believe that CM Bommai will fulfill the promise that he has made to the community. If not, we will intensify our protest.”
Meanwhile, he gave a call to the people joining the indefinite protest to bring necessary items from home and that the transport facility will be arranged by the organizers.
