Petrol bomb thrown at theatre screening Padmaavat in Belagavi

Belagavi: A group of Miscreants threw petrol bombs at Prakash theatre screening Padmaavat in Belagavi on Thursday, 25^th January.

The incident took place at 9:30 pm outside the city’s Prakash theatre. The sound of the explosion created chaos among the movie goers and the passersby on the street. No injuries have been reported but the incident took aback the public.

The incident was captured in a CCTV camera which shows miscreants approaching the theatre in bikes and hurling the bottles filled with petrol at the theatre. The petrol bombs exploded and created a huge fireball which created panic among the people present there.

The movie screening resumed only after the place was assured safe by the police.

The controversial film has enraged Rajput groups which allege that the movie distorted the history and hurt the sentiments of their community. Several acts of Vandalism have been reported in various parts of the country with a view to protest against the film.
