The 65-year-old philanthropist was the Managing Director of Teekay’s Concepts and was also the founder president of Beary Sahitya Parishad. He is survived by his wife and two sons.
He was very much involved in the activities pertaining to the Beary language movement. He was also the convener of the historical first Beary Sahitya Sammelana that was held in Town Hall, Mangaluru in the year 1998.
The credit of success of the second and third Beary Sahitya Sammelana held at Neralakatte of Bantwal in 1999 and at Udupi in 2001 respectively, goes to Abdul Rahim as he was the president of the Parishad during that period. His contribution in forming the Beary Sahitya Academy is great.
