Bengaluru: KPCC President DK Shivakumar on Friday said that Congress was never against the vaccine, we only questioned the need to vaccinate the poor Asha workers and healthcare workers first without proper testing.
He was speaking at a ceremony held to commemorate the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi at the KPCC office on Queen’s Road in Bengaluru.
Shivakumar said, ” BJP too did not have faith in the vaccine which is why PM Modi did not take the jab at first and experimented on poor people. If we opposed the vaccine, would Siddaramaiah, myself, and other leaders take the vaccine?”
He further said, “It is our duty to protect the people during Covid-19. We have given Rs 100 crore to provide free vaccination, ambulance service, oxygen supply, medical kit, food kit delivery to the poor. Congress also organized many other programs.”
