This road was tarred three years back. But, since the last one year, the road is over populated with pot holes and had become impassable. And the rain this monsoon has completely washed off the road and converted it more akin to drainage. Travelling by the non-existent road or by its borders is a challenge in itself.

Though the localities requested with Varkady panchayat it turned out dud. Therefore, the two ladies Tejakshi and her friend Chaitra, both residents of Deigoli, wrote a letter to the PMO requesting for his help.

The dilapidated 4km long road

Half-a-kilometer of the road from Nandarapadpu to Nandarapadpu junction at Karnataka’s border is in good condition. But, this road from the junction, which connects with Deigoli along a distance of 4kms is in a state of complete disrepair till Poyyuttabailu.

The commuters including students going towards Kairangala Punyakoti, Mangaluru and Mudipu, face much trouble due to the dilapidated condition of this road. Auto-Rickshaw drivers are apprehensive to go by this route and only two buses ply through this road, informs Bharath Kulal, a local.

Vehicular movement may stop

“Since one year this road problem is there. Since the last one month the road has been washed off and has become more like drainage. If the people face any health problems, private vehicles do not agree to come via this road. There are two buses that ply here, and the situation is such that a visit to the garage is customary once in every three days, lament the bus staff. If this carries on, there is a fear that vehicular movement here may come to a complete stop,” expresses Chadrahasa Nidiyambiri, a resident here.
