Police attack on Shivananda Swamiji evoke protests in Kalaburagi

Koppala: A police officer attacked Shivananda Shivacharya Swamiji of Revuru village in Kalaburagi’s Afzalpur taluk.

Following the attack, many people from Lingayat Yuva Vedike and other Swamijis along with Shivananda Swami requested the SP to dismiss him from the service immediately on Monday, June 1.

As per sources, the incident took place while Shivananda Shivacharya Swamiji was traveling to collect grains from devotees. Sharana Gowda, a police constable attached to Arjunagi Tanda station stopped him and hit him.

The officials have suspended the constable, however, the Vedike protested to dismiss him from service.

Meanwhile, they also said that Maharashtra’s Rudrapashupati has been killed and requested the police to take legal action immediately.
