Police phone in programme: Pre-mature delivery at a private hospital complains a woman

Mangaluru: A woman complained to the police commissioner of having made to deliver pre-maturely at a private hospital and of having faced lapses in medical rules here during the weekly police phone-in programme on Friday December 7^th.

While giving her complaint to the commissioner during the phone-in programme, the women explained that the private hospital personnel requested the Lady Goshen Hospital conduct the process of adopting the child. When enquired, it was revealed that the delivery was done pre-maturely at 7 months and that X-Ray examination was done 7 months pregnant. That is illegal and proper action needs to be taken. There is a need for supervision on the functioning of private hospitals, she requested.

Responding to the request, police Commissioner T R Suresh informed her to give a specific complaint in this connection  and after investigating if the hospital’s actions was within or without the legal frame, the health department will be notified to take appropriate action.

Dangerous road side

The road side at Vamanjoor is three-fourth-of-a-feet higher than the actual ground level and is dangerous for passing vehicles. Here, buses compete with each other at high speeds because of which recently a person fell from his scooter at this dangerous edge and injured himself, petitioned a local. The commissioner informed the caller to give a complain in this regard post which the same will be brought to the notice of the department in connection.

Ticket not being provided

A woman caller complained that the route number 15 buses were not providing tickets. Some buses force the passengers to alight at Lalbhag and are made to board another bus. The commissioner replied that, special operations will be conducted along this rule daily.

A resident of Deralakatte complained that the buses, instead of stopping at Thokottu bus stand are stopping on the roadside. Because of this, traffic density along the road is increased. The commissioner said that action will be taken to make the buses stop in the bus bays only.

A local from Bejai said that the road concretization taken along the Bejai New Road is causing much inconvenience to the people. Therefore the caller requested that passagebe provided for at least two wheelers. The commissioner promised that the police will inspect the area and if there is necessary space, permission will be provided for the passage of two wheelers.

Humps need to be painted

Since the hump at Kuntikana has not been painted it is causing many accidents. The humps need to be painted immediately and a caution board needs to be placed, complained a woman.

The hump at a turning in Gurupura is causing many accidents. Recently, it caused the death of a person, complained a localite.

The commissioner informed that the situation will be examined and proper facility will be provided.

A woman caller informed that there is a need for a bus shelter at Kavoor junction for buses going towards Bajpe. If the request is put forth before the Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC), the officials say that they do not have enough funds. Due to the lack of a bus shelter, it is causing much problem to the travellers as they are compelled to face the rains, winds and the scorching sun, she explained. The commissioner replied that a letter will be written to the responsible.

Music system menace

The music system menace has increased in private buses. Since they play the music in full volume, it is causing much inconvenience to the passengers. There are no buses via Padil after 9pm in the night.

Road widening

Though the road from Kankanady to Hampankatte has been widened, it has failed to be of any effect as vehicles remain parked on either sides of the road, complained a citizen. This was the 96^th phone-in programme and altogether there were 32 calls. DCP Hanumanthraya and Uma Prashanth, ACP Manjunath Shetty, Inspectors Shiv Prakash and Amanulla, ASI Yusuf, Head constable Purushottama and others were present for the programme.

Ganja menace at Bengre yet to stop

Recently, after a girl was gang raped at Thota Bengre, there was call for putting an end to the drugs and ganja menace here. But during the phone-in programme, it came to light that the drug racket here is still going in strong.

“As the evening sets in, ganja is abused behind buses and trees. Even school children and college students are involved in this. If the complaint is given to Panambur police, they will come for a visit and leave,” informed a local. The commissioner informed that police in mufti will be deployed here.

Later the commissioner spoke with the reports and informed that two druggies were arrested on Thursday and through them, a search has been launched for the others.

Tint in luxury vehicles?

Tint is being removed from normal cars in the city. But the tint of luxury cars is not being removed, alleged a person. Responding to the allegation the commissioner said that there is chance for the installation of tint which is up to 30% opaque. Operations will be conducted in this regard and glasses with tints that exceed the permissible limits of opaqueness will be removed. Now-a-days, the windows of some cars come with tints during their production period itself, explained the commissioner.
