Mangaluru/Udupi: In the backdrop of the fall in air pressure in bay of Bengal and with the monsoon getting stronger along the state’s coast, good rain was experienced throughout Karavali on Thursday. According to the forecast by the Weather Department, heavy rains are expected for the next three days.
Good rain was reported in Mangaluru city from Thursday morning and by evening, the sky turned cloudy. There are reports of rain from Puttur, Uppinangady, Vittal, Venur in DK district and Manipal, Karkala, Brahmavar, Shirva, Kaup and Belman in Udupi district.
Sea erosion at Musodi
Sea erosion at Musodi has continued and the houses belonging to Mohammed and his sister Nafisa are facing danger. The inhabitants of the houses have been shifted to a safe area. Altogether 28 coconut tree belonging to them have been consumed by the sea.

Saturday Red Alert
Kasaragod/Manipal: In the present situation, according to the movement of the clouds, there is a possibility of heavy rains and in this backdrop, the Weather Department has announced ‘Orange Alert’ on June 21
st from Kerala to the coast of Maharashtra. ‘Red Alert’ which is the highest level of warning hs been announced for Saturday June 22
nd along the coasts of Kerala, Karnataka and Goa. For June 23
rd Sunday, ‘Orange Alert’ has been sounded.
Heavy to very heavy rains are expected in areas where the Orange alert has been announced. The department has informed the public to be careful and the government to maintain facility.
Kerala State Disaster Management Authority (KSDMA) has ordered the concerned departments staffs to conduct necessary preparations and start taluk level control centres.
