The suspect was earlier detained, but after multiple rounds of probe, the student was arrested. The victim’s father, Vikram Thakur, while speaking to the TV channel said he was unaware about the new development and did not know about any arrest so far.

Earlier a school bus conductor was arrested and molestation was also suspected. However, once the CBI took over the matter, it was stated that there was no molestation involved in the case. According to reports, the CBI picked up the Class XI student at around 11 pm on Tuesday.

A bench headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra passed the directions on a plea moved by the boy’s father challenging the extension of the interim protection from arrest granted to the three trustees.

Seven-year-old Pradyuman was found dead inside a toilet of Gurgaon school with his throat slit on September 8.
