Pramoda Devi Wadiyar clarifies of not entering politics

Mysuru: Pramoda Devi Wadiyar of the Mysuru Royal Family has denied her entrance into politics.

Speaking to the media, Pramoda Devi said “I’m not entering governmental issues. I have been stating this for quite a while. I have no interest for challenging in elections,” 

When asked about Amit Shah’s recent visit to the Mysuru Palace Pramoda Devi said that it was a “cordiality call”, She also said a few leaders of the BJP, including L.K. Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi and Vijayaraje Scindia, had also visited the palace before.

She denied that Mr. Shah had talked about with her any proposition for a Rajya Sabha nomination. “It was not discussed. On the off chance that it (Rajya Sabha nomination) was offered, I would have had no delay in revealing the same,” she said. 

She also added that the scion of the family, Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar, too has no interest in joining politics. She said her significant other, late Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar, had represented Mysuru in the Lok Sabha earlier but he never used politics for his personal gain, she said.
