Principals of colleges will be held responsible if there is lapse in Covid-19 guidelines: DC

Mangaluru: As schools and PU colleges are all set to welcome students of classes 10 and 12 on January 1, Dakshina Kannada district deputy commissioner Dr Rajendra K V, said that the principals of PU colleges will be held responsible if there is any lapse in Covid-19 guidelines

He was speaking after a meeting relating to reopening of second PU classes from January 1 on Wednesday, December 30.

Dr Rajendra K V said, “There must be thermal scanning done of every student on arrival, students must wear masks and maintain social distance. All the rooms must be sanitised regularly. Attendance is not compulsory and those attending must have consent forms signed by parents. Also, Mid-day meals will not be provided.”

” If any student falls sick, they should be kept in separate rooms and medical aid should be extended. Students staying in hostel must produce Covid negative certificates,” he added

DC further said, ” Parents can send their children to school without  any fear. Primary and high schools are being cleaned and sanitised. All teachers and non-teaching staff will undergo RT-PCR Covid tests. “
