Puttur cultivator speaks with Modi

Puttur: On the occasion of the inauguration of the union government’s ambitious ‘Kisan Samman’ scheme, the programme was webcast throughout the country. During this occasion, Janardan Bhat who is a progressive cultivator from Puttur got the opportunity to have a conversation with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The programme which was conducted at Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh was broadcasted live throughout the nation. Along with this, a conversation with the PM was organised in which, two farmers from the state got the opportunity to converse with the PM. One was Janardan Bhat from Puttur and the other was a farmer from Tumakuru. The district level webcast was organised at the Directorate of Gear Research, Mottettadka.

“I am a small farmer who cultivates cashew nuts, banana, pepper and arecanut. Those in the vicinity of my property are also small farmers. Prime Minister, the various programmes that you have implemented have been useful for the farmers. In that too, urea fertilizer with need coating and crop insurance have been very useful. The newly implemented ‘Kisan Samman’ programme too is useful for farmers. May even more useful programmes be implemented for the farmers,” said Janardan Bhat in his conversation with the PM. He thanked the PM for bringing out good programmes for the development of cultivation.

Mentioned in ‘Man Ki Baat’

Meanwhile, during his talk in the ‘Man ki Baat’ programme on Sunday, the prime minister mentioned the name of Omkar Shetty from Udupi. A National War Memorial has been created within a short period of time in remembrance of martyrdom of the soldiers for the country and it will be handed over to the defence force and the country on Feb 25th, informed the PM in ‘Man ki Baat’. “Karnataka, Udupi’s Sri Omkar Shetty has expressed his happiness in Narendra Modi app regarding the construction of the National War Memorial,” said the prime minister.
