Puttur: Locals picket house of a man accused of kidnapping a minor girl

Puttur: Locals of Koltige Kuntikan in the taluk  on Wednesday September 29 picketed the house of a man who has been accused of kidnapping a minor Hindu girl.

The accused Siddique from Koltige Kuntikan had allegedly kidnapped a minor Hindu girl and kept her at his home. Locals and the police rushed to his house but the family members of the accused did not open the door which raised suspicion.

Later, they searched the entire house but the girl was not found. Locals alleged that she might have been shifted somewhere else.

However, the police dispersed the crowd and took Siddique into custody. Siddique revealed that he had known the girl for a year and she had expressed her willingness to marry him. The girl belongs to a Dalit family from Delampady within Adoor police station limits in Kasargod district.

He confessed that he had brought her in a car and kept her at Puttur.

The Bellare police contacted the girl’s family. The girl’s family said that as the girl is a minor, they will file an abduction complaint in the police station.
