Puttur: Woman suffering from pulmonary disease ferried via zero traffic from Mangaluru to Bengaluru

Puttur: A 22-year old patient suffering from pulmonary disease was shifted from Puttur to Bengaluru within four hours and 20 minutes on Wednesday, via zero traffic

Suhana (22) was supposed to undergo emergency surgery in her lungs and ambulance driver Haneef took her from Mahavir Hospital Puttur to Vydehi Hospital, Whitefield, Bengaluru in four hours and 20 minutes.

The message of shifting the critically ill patient was shared on social media and public support was sought to make the corridor traffic free. The message went viral and people lined up along the route between Puttur and Bengaluru to ensure zero traffic for the ambulance

Hanif took the Uppinangady-Guruvayanakere-Ujire-Charmadi Ghat route and reached Mudigere handpost in one and half hours. After which he then took the Belur route to reach Vydehi Hospital.
