Raichur: A class 2 student reportedly suffered burn injuries after a teacher poured hot water on him at a school here. The teacher was allegedly angry at the student for relieving himself in the school uniform. Photos of the boy being treated at the hospital have gone viral.
According to an IANS report, the incident took place last Friday at a primary school run by a body called Ghanamatheshwara Grameena Samsthe at Santekallur village in Karnataka’s Raichur district.
The report further added that the student, Akhith, has been admitted to Lingasaguru taluk hospital with 40 percent burns, and his condition is said to be serious. After finding out that Akhith had defecated in his uniform, Huligeppa, the teacher, turned furious and poured piping hot water on the child.
The boy’s family has been threatened against complaining about the incident. Akhith’s parents got phone calls from local leaders, IANS quoted sources as saying.
