Generally, accepting the failure of a film is challenging. Particularly, when an anticipated film fails, many hesitate to discuss it. However, Raj B Shetty has embraced the failure of “Toby” as a valuable experience and a course correction process.
Speaking on the matter, he said, “If Toby had been a big hit, I might have continued making films once every two years. In my opinion, failure provides a very beautiful experience. In this aspect, I consider myself lucky. It took me some time to adjust. The failure of Toby is the reason for my current energy. That failure taught me a new lesson, showed me where I went wrong, how to correct it and move forward, and how our thinking should change. I never thought failure could provide so much freedom,” says Raj B Shetty.
Raj elaborates on how failure became a beautiful experience. “Winning only teaches you confidence. It brings a sense that what you’re doing is right. But failure raises numerous questions. Why did this happen, what did I say, what should have been done differently? It raises all these questions. Then we realize where we have deviated from our roots. It’s like a course correction…
