Mumbai: Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will release new currency notes in the denomination of Rs 100 with some changes made to the 2005 Mahatma Gandhi series currency notes in the denomination of Rs 100. The old notes will continue with new notes in the country.
The new Rs 100 currency note will have letter ‘R’ and signature of present RBI governor Urjit Patel on the space where note number printed on the old currency notes. The currency note number will be printed on the reverse side of the currency note. The size of the numbers printed on the currency note will get bigger from left side of the currency note to its right, RBI said.
