The highway, which was inaugurated in March, has witnessed a distressing series of accidents resulting in the loss of more than 100 lives, according to a report by Udayavani.
During the DISHA meeting held at the Zilla Panchayat hall on Saturday, DK Suresh directed his ire towards the Highways Authority, blaming incomplete work. He emphasized that people’s lives were being endangered, labeling the highway as a “death spot.” Suresh demanded immediate action to address the persisting issues.
Concerned by the lack of progress in identifying and rectifying the problem areas, DK Suresh called for a road safety meeting scheduled for next week. The meeting is set to be attended by the District Collector and other relevant authorities, where they will be required to bring necessary information regarding the ongoing accidents.
