The highway, which was inaugurated in March, has witnessed a distressing series of accidents resulting in the loss of more than 100 lives, according to a report by Udayavani.

During the DISHA meeting held at the Zilla Panchayat hall on Saturday, DK Suresh directed his ire towards the Highways Authority, blaming incomplete work. He emphasized that people’s lives were being endangered, labeling the highway as a “death spot.” Suresh demanded immediate action to address the persisting issues.

Concerned by the lack of progress in identifying and rectifying the problem areas, DK Suresh called for a road safety meeting scheduled for next week. The meeting is set to be attended by the District Collector and other relevant authorities, where they will be required to bring necessary information regarding the ongoing accidents.

In response to the mounting criticism, the NH Project Director issued an apology for the continuing accidents on the Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway. Assuring attendees that the issue had been discussed with the police department, he pledged to take appropriate measures to tackle the problem and ensure the safety of commuters.
