Heavy rains and water-logged roads tend to make commuting a hassle and people often prefer to book a ride through Uber or Ola. However, a Mumbaikar Shravankumar Suvarna who tried booking a Uber ride was shocked at seeing that the 50-km ride would cost him nearly Rs 3,000.
Sharing a screengrab of the charges Suvarna tweeted “Flight to goa is cheaper than my ride home #peakmumbairains,” Suvarna wrote.
As per his screengrab, UberGo was charging Rs 3,041, Premier had a fare of Rs 4,081, and XL would charge a whopping Rs 5,159. Replying to a user, who reacted to his post, Suvarna said that the ride usually costs around Rs 800-1,000 without a surge.
