Sakleshpur: Elephant fatally attacks sharpshooter during anaesthesia attempt

A wounded elephant unleashed a sudden and aggressive assault on sharpshooter Venkatesh while he was in the process of administering anaesthesia. The tragic outcome of the incident led to Venkatesh sustaining severe injuries, ultimately resulting in his demise while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

The distressed forest elephant, known as Bheema, had been traversing the Alooru vicinity in Sakleshpur. The forest department had embarked on a mission to provide medical treatment to alleviate Bheema’s condition.

As part of these efforts, sharpshooter Venkatesh undertook the task of administering anaesthesia in the vicinity of Alooru at Halliyooru. In a heartbreaking twist, the elephant’s response was swift and unanticipated, as it unexpectedly launched a violent reaction, inflicting fatal wounds upon Venkatesh.
