Sandalwood star Duniya Vijay held for alleged assault and kidnap attempt

Bengaluru: Sandalwood star Duniya Vijay and three of his associates were arrested by the Highgrounds police on Sunday morning on the charges of assaulting and attempting to kidnap a bodybuilder.

The victim, Maruti Gowda happens to be the nephew of Vijay’s former friend Panipuri Kitty.

The incident took place at a bodybuilding competition, held near Ambedkar Bhavan, in which Maruti was a participant. Vijay is said to have mocked Maruti during the competition and this led to a tussle between the two. Vijay’s associates too joined the fight and assaulted Maruti

The police have begun investigations in the case.
