Belagavi: Karnataka Deputy chief minister DK Shivakumar on Wednesday said that Congress will stand with the leaders who gave their support to the party and thus, strengthened it in difficult times.
Shivakumar’s remarks came in the backdrop of his visit to Laxman Savadi’s residence on Tuesday evening. It is rumored that the visit was prompted by Savadi’s displeasure at not being allotted a ministerial berth.
Speaking to reporters here Shivakumar said that Laxman Savadi and Jagadish Shettar strengthened the Congress party by joining it. “Savadi and Shettar are not mere activists. There is no question of Congress abandoning them. I did not have a chance to speak to Savadi after the election, hence the visit,” he said.
