As a precautionary measure, boulders have been placed as temporary sea walls at several places right from Panambur to Surathkal and Mukka as the fisheries road here is in danger. Sand bags have also been placed as an additional measure.

Chitrapura was visited by Mangaluru North MLA Dr Bharath Shetty visited to have a firsthand account of the problem. The MLA also spoke to the DC on the need to initiate preventive measures. If the need arose officials will decide on shifting the residents of the area facing danger, informed the MLA.
