Mangaluru: The Concreting work of Shiradi Ghat has completed and its ancillary works in expected to be over in a week’s time, hence this section along NH 75 on Shiradi Ghat will be opened for traffic from Sunday, July 15th.
Public Works Minister H.D. Revanna and Housing, Urban Development Minister U.T. Khader will inaugurate the stretch at 11.30 a.m. at Gundya in Dakshina Kannada. MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, Sullia MLA Angara, and Sakleshpur MLA Kumaraswamy will also attend the inaugural. Thereby, the six months’ ordeal of road users who had to take alternative routes will come to its end.
Since 2007-08, the road was in a perpetual battered condition. Initially, he government had invited Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari for the formal inaugral of the road but as his dates were not available, the government is going ahead with the formal opening on July 15th.
