Shivamogga: BJP government has brought infamy to the state by making it the “most corrupt state in the country,” said Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president D K Shivakumar on Tuesday.
He was speaking at the “Janadwani Samavesha” (Voice of the people meeting) organised by the Shivamogga district Congress.
Drawing parallels between the lotus (BJP’s election symbol) and the BJP leaders’ actions, Shivakumar said “Lotus is never found in clean waters. It blooms in muddy water. So is the BJP. They will come to power only by disturbing peace and public order, and by creating chaos in the society.”
Shivakumar alleged that the Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and Home Minister Araga Jananendra of shielding former minister K S Eshwarappa in the contractor Santhosh Patil’s suicide case. “We (Congress) had demanded for a case to be registered against him (Eshwarappa). At least a prevention of corruption case could have been filed, but it was not done,” he alleged.
