Shivamogga: Groom flees from wedding venue after ex-lover commits suicide; Bride tries to kill self

Shivamogga: In a bizarre incident, a groom fleed from his wedding venue after his ex-lover committed suicide on Sunday, March 20.  Shocked by this, the bride too tried to kill herself but was saved by her family members.

The deceased has been identified as Roopa (28), a resident of O T Road. She was a lecturer by profession and was in a relationship with her colleague Murali for the past 4-5 years.

But, Murali got married to another girl on Sunday, meanwhile, Roopa committed suicide by hanging herself.

Upon knowing that Roopa had killed herself, Murali sneaked out of his own marriage leaving the bride and her family devastated.

A case has been registered.
