Son murders father; family feud

Kasaragod: A son killed his father by bludgeoning him with a wooden log at Chittarikal near here on the night of Friday, June 28.

The deceased is identified as Damodaran (62) and the accused is Anush (25). The accused has been arrested by the police and reason behind the henious crime is said to be due to family fued.

Incident synopsis

At around 10 pm on Friday, a verbal argument ensued between the father and son and in fit of rage, Anush hit his father with a wooden log that was lying nearby. Damodaran died on the spot.

It is learnt the the duo used to quarrel frequently which on this occasion culminated with Damodaran’s death.

Kanhangad DySP P K Sudhakaran visited the spot and conducted inspection with a team and a case has been registered at the local police station.
