South Bengaluru: Six people killed in 2 separate road accidents

Bengaluru: In a road accident, four occupants of a car were killed late at night on Friday, January 7 when an over-speeding truck slammed into it at NICE Road near the Kanakapura Road junction here.

All four killed, including two women, were of the same family, media reports said. There was a huge traffic jam on the NICE Road for nearly 3 hours due to the accident as a result.

Police personnel of Kumarasamy traffic police station arrived at the spot and shifted the mortal remains to a hospital.

The car was trailing two Canter trucks when the accident happened, reports said. “An over-speeding truck crashed into the car from behind killing all the people on the spot. We are yet to identify the victims,” Deccan Herald reported an official was quoted as saying.

In a separate incident, two youngsters were killed after their motorbikes hit the median near Indira Canteen on Outer Ring Road near PES University. The accident happened as they were going from Mysuru Road towards the 100 Feet Ring Road.

The deceased were identified as Lakshmeesha (28), an engineer, and Raghavendra (32), a lab technical assistant.

They partied at a Nagarabhavi resto-bar with their friends and were returning to their homes at Byatarayanapura on two separate bikes. Reports said that not wearing helmets contributed to the fatality.

Banashankari Traffic police station has registered a case in this regard.
