Certain establishments which the government deems high risk, will be required to use the app-based register to make it easier to track down potential Covid-19-infected patients.
Park Neung-hoo, South Korea’s health minister said, “Over the course of tracking down patients linked to the Itaewon clubs, the government experienced difficulties because many of them made false statements about their personal details in the visitor logs. We have decided to adopt an electronic register using QR codes so as to collect accurate data on visitors and operate a swift quarantine system”
It is said that guests to nightclubs, bars, daytime discos, indoor gyms, and indoor standing live performance halls, will be required to use any of quite a few commercially obtainable apps to generate a one-time, personalised QR code that may be scanned on the door.
