Suicide of minor at Kaniyoor: Accused arrested for abetment

Vitla: A man has been arrested for abetment to suicide of a minor girl at Kaniyoor in Kanyana Village recently.

The arrested has been identified as Sahul Hameed alias Kutta.

The father of the girl, Sanjeeva, had filed a complaint after his daughter took her own life on Wednesday at their rented house in Kanyana Village.

The police have booked the accused under Section 305 of IPC and column 3(2)(V), 3(2)(va) of The SC & ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Amendment Act 2015.

Kutta was arrested on Thursday night from Kukkala Village in Madanthyar of Belthangady taluk, police said in a press release.
