Ramanagara: In an unexpected turn of events, Lokayukta officials conducted a surprise raid at the district hospital on Thursday, initiating a thorough inspection of its facilities.

During this surprise check, Lokayukta personnel scrutinized the hospital’s medicine shop, medical staff, and doctors, raising questions about the use of expired medication, potential malpractice, and corruption concerns.

The inspection sought to ascertain whether expired pills were being dispensed to patients and if any medical professionals were involved in unethical practices, such as accepting bribes.

The officials also investigated matters related to doctors’ punctuality and whether they were issuing private vouchers for services like dialysis and blood tests.
