“The Vistadome compartments, which was sanctioned by the Indian Railways, arrived in the Bangalore Division of the South Western Railway two days ago. It is expected to be available for passenger traffic by March 15. It has not yet been decided on which trains it will be attached,” said the Divisoin’s Public Relations Officer E Vijaya to Udayavani.
The Vistadome compartments features 40 comfortable and 360-degree rotating chairs. It will allow passengers to enjoy a panoramic view of nature during daytime travel.
The 55-kilometre stretch between Subramanya Road and Sakleshpur stations has extensive views of dense forests, ghats, waterfalls and hillocks. It is therefore more likely to be attached to daytime trains between Mangaluru and Bengaluru.
