Ten Day Long Lorry Strike Withdrawn in Karnataka

Bengaluru: Lorry owners have decided to withdraw their strike after talks with Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA) officials turned fruitful on Saturday in the state capital, the sources said.

Various organisations including lorry owners associations were on strike for the last 10 days in Karnataka to protest against hike in third party insurance. In the meeting held on April 08, IRDA has agreed to reduce thrid party insurance by 23%.

However, people were relived after a few lorries supplied essential goods to the markets after talks with lorry owners managed to reduce the effect the strike would have on common man in the last 10 days.
