Chamarajanagar: Schools have not reopened due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But there have been many complaints that some private schools are already charging fees. This private school in the city here has decided to charge fees only after the classes starts. Moreover, the minimum fee here is Rs 500 per year and the maximum is Rs 1750 per year! Not only that afternoon meal's free! All these are the speciality of Deenbandhu School in Chamarajanagar town. 'Rashtrakavi' G S Shivarudrappa's son Prof. G S Jayadeva is the founder of this school. It's been 21 years since the school's foundation. Classes from UKG to 10th standard are taught in this school. Another speciality of this school is that all classes are in Kannada medium. The Deenbandhu School exemplifies how well a Kannada medium school can be run with the same standards as an English media school - a nice building, a well-equipped laboratory, and talented teacher corps. In the last academic year of school, there were 444 students. Only 35 children are accommodated in each class. The Deenabandhu School has decided to charge fees only after the COVID-19 pandemic is over and schools are allowed to reopen. The fees charged by the schools are 500 per annum for LKG and UKG, Rs 750 for 1st to 4th standard, Rs 1,250 for 5th, 6th and 7th standards and Rs 1750 for high school.

The school allows parents to pay fees in 2-3 instalments. Another speciality is that children with only a mother or father fees are completely exempted.
