Every year during Sri Krishna Janmashtami celebrations,  Ravi Katapady would dress up as frightful Hollywood monsters roaming the city’s surroundings, collecting donations from the public for the noble cause.

In the past nine years, Ravi Katapady has raised Rs 90 lac, and before retiring, he planned to raise Rs 1 crore. He has so far contributed to the medical care of 66 children who are struggling financially.

This year, during the Ashtami festival, he has reportedly reached the goal by earning Rs 10 lakhs. Ravi said this sum will be handed to Udupi DC Kurma Rao for the medical treatment of eight more sick children.

Ravi expressed his satisfaction in helping those in need with his costumes. He thanked the artists who helped him get into these characters from Hollywood movies.
