Ticket denial, Congress workers protest in front of CM’s house in Mysuru

Mysuru: Hatred over denial of tickets to challenge the coming elections in Karnataka continued on Tuesday with supporters of two sitting Congress MLAs went to Mysuru and held a protest before Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s home.

Supporters of Hangal MLA Manohar Tahsildar and Siruguppa MLA B.M. Nagaraj held agitation outside Mr. Siddaramaiah’s home and voiced their outrage regarding the party’s choice to deny tickets to their leaders. 

Mr. Nagaraj’s supporters, who included chose agents from Siruguppa City Municipal Council and party’s Siruguppa unit office-bearers, threatened to resign all at once if the party does not field its candidates and renominates Mr. Nagaraj. A CMC part, who was a part of the protest, said the party workers won’t work for any candidate other than Mr. Nagaraj. 

Thus, the supporters of Mr. Manohar Tahsildar gheraoed the Chief Minister’s home, requesting ticket to their leader. 

Addressing the media, Mr. Siddaramaiah depicted the protest as an outflow of disappointment, which is normal when a sitting MLA isn’t renominated. “Their supporters will come and yell. However, we will resolve the issue”, he included.
