The post-mortem of the tiger was done by veterinarian Dr Mujeeb. In the reports, the tiger’s claws, canines and whiskers were intact. The sex of the tiger could not be detected as the behind portion of the carcass was eaten by wild animals. Four canine marks were noticed around the neck of the dead tiger. The officials have suspected that the tiger may have died during a fight.

The entrails of the tiger have been sent to Forensic Lab in Madiwala, Bengaluru and National Centre for Biological Sciences in Bengaluru, for DNA examination. Nagarahole ACF Paul Antony and wildlife warden Kunjangada Bose inspected the spot.
