Fake job promise: 8 people lose Rs 1.53 cr, 2 arrested

Bengaluru: In a case of luring for government jobs, two of the accused namely Prakash and Narayanappa, residents of Kunigal taluk and Hoskote have been arrested by the Chikkajala Police.

Another accused named Patil has absconded, for whom the police are on a hunt.

Reportedly, the trio had lured persons namely Priyank, Pashupati, Abhishek, Dhanush Kumar, Sandeep, Hemanth, Manoj Kumar, and contractor Muniraju assuring placement in government jobs. Both the accused had collected a total of Rs 1.53 crores from the victims.

As per the sources, Narayanappa and Prakash are contractors, and Patil works in Vidhana Soudha.

According to the complainant contractor Muniraju, accused Prakash had said that Belagavi Police Commissioner Boralingaiah was his uncle and knew Kunigal Congress MLA Ranganath H D and Congress MP D K Suresh. Prakash had also said that his father was Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) in the State Water Department. Allegedly by giving false assurance to Muniraju, Prakash had assured of providing job placement in the police department to his son Pashupati, the victim in the same case. For this, he had asked Rs 15 lakhs from Muniraju.

As per the Chikkajala police, the trio had assured Priyank of AOR post in the water department for which they charged Rs 48 lakhs, Rs 52 lakhs with Abhishek for the post of Superintendent Engineer, Rs 12 lakhs from Sandeep, Manoj, and Hemanth for the post of Junior Accountant, Auditor, and Metre Reader, respectively. Dhanush was asked to give Rs 3 lakhs for the driver post.
