Tumakuru: Anganwadi teacher, helper burn 3-year-old boy's genitals

Tumakuru: In a shocking incident, an Anganwadi teacher and assistant in Chikkanayakanahalli, Tumakuru burnt the private parts of a three-year-old boy as a punishment for wetting his pants.

The incident came to light when the boy’s grandmother noticed burn wounds on the child’s genitals and on the right lap.

The family immediately reported the issue to the concerned officials and the District Child Protection Officer Pavithra visited the village.

A child counselor was sent to the victim’s house to counsel the child and the family. The officials also sent a notice to the Anganwadi teacher and helper following which they issued an apology.
