Udupi: BJP expels four office bearers for anti-party activities

The BJP has expelled four of its party officials for indulging in anti-party activities and extending their support for an independent candidate in the upcoming MLC elections.

Kishore Kumar Kundapur, the district president informed that the party has expelled Mahesh Takur, who serves as the BJP district vice-president, Upendra Nayak, the vice-president of Kaup Mandala, Roshan Shetty, vice-president of the district Yuva Morcha, and Junaid, the chief secretary of the district Minority Morcha for supporting the independent candidate, Raghupathi Bhat over the official BJP nominee.

Kundapur said that the party had sought a clarification from these office-bearers for violating party discipline. However, none of the explanations received from them were satisfactory. Consequently, the party has decided to expel them for a period of six years.
