Ananthapadmanabha Acharya, aged 90, a retired General Manager of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and IDBI, and Srinivasa Acharya, aged 88, a retired Principal Accountant General of Maharashtra State, breathed their last on October 18. What makes this occurrence even more remarkable is that the span between their deaths was a mere 7 hours, and it transpired naturally, without any apparent shock-related cause.
Ananthapadmanabha Acharya began his career with Corporation Bank in Ranibennur before joining RBI. His professional journey took him to prominent cities such as Mumbai, Delhi, Jaipur, and Lucknow. He retired as a General Manager from Industrial Development Bank of India (IDBI) and Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI). Throughout his career, he was known for his unwavering discipline. After retirement, he made his home in Rahulnagar, Manipal, where he pursued his passions for agriculture and Carnatic music. He is survived by his wife, son, and daughter.
Srinivasa Acharya initially worked with the Central Railway Department and later transitioned to the civil service. He held positions such as Assistant Accountant General in Mumbai and the first Deputy Accountant General of Manipur State. His professional journey led him to various Indian states, including Manipur, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, and Delhi. Notably, he served as the Finance Director for the State Trading Corporation and Karnataka Power Corporation, as well as the Finance Officer for Banaras Hindu University. His illustrious career culminated in his retirement as the Principal Accountant General of Maharashtra State.

Srinivasa Acharya was actively involved in charitable endeavors, supporting the education of underprivileged students, environmental causes, and animal welfare organizations. He leaves behind two sons and a daughter to carry on his legacy.
