Amidst the ongoing Waqf land disputes, many people have begun examining land records. Recently, it went viral that “Sultanpur” was recorded under survey number 120 in Shivalli village of Udupi district on the Karnataka government’s Dishank app.
Addressing the issue, Udupi Deputy Commissioner Vidya Kumari has clarified the matter, stating that they have noticed the “Sultanpur” entry in survey numbers 120 and 85 of Shivalli village on the Dishank app as noted on social media. She confirmed that the full survey map for Shivalli village is available for public download on the official Karnataka land records website (https://www.landrecords.karnataka.gov.in).
The official records and survey maps, however, do not mention “Sultanpur.” The revenue and survey department’s records, as well as RTC records for survey number 120, contain no such entry. The DC has assured the public that there is no reason for concern.
