Udupi: The panchaloha idol of Sri Guruvarya, which will be installed at the fully renovated Sri Bhagavan Nithyanandaswamy Mandir Matha here, was taken out in a grand ‘Shobhayatra’ on Sunday.
The Shobhayatra procession was flagged off from Kodavoor Shirdi Sri Saibaba Mandir after Chairman of MEMG Bengaluru Dr| Ranjan Pai lit the lamp and Mumbai-based businessman K K Avarsekar broke open a coconut.
ProChancellor of MAHE Dr. H. S Ballal, president of Nithyananda Swami Mandir Matha Kodavoor Divakar Shetty, Renovation Committee president Purushottam P. Shetty, businessman Sadashiva Shetty Kanyana, Kanhangad Sri Nithyananda Trust’s K. Mohanchandran Nambiar, and M. Narasimha Shenoy were present.

Dfrom the Mandir, the shobhayatra proceeded towards Govinda Kalyana Mantapa and thereafter proceeded on foot to Sri Nithyananda Swamy Mandir Matha via Jodukatte, and Diana Circle.
Volunteer in colourful costumes, chande recital, dollu kunitha, kombu, trumpet, bhajans by more than 100 bhajan troupes, saxophone recital, muthukuda by women from Kerala were a special attraction during the procession.
