Udupi: A lecturer of Rukmini Shedthi Memorial first grade college in Barkur opposed the celebration of Swami Vivekananda Jayanti by the students.
It is said that students of the college celebrated Swami Vivekananda Jayanti as Youth Day. But, the lecturer opposed the move and made the students stand outside the classroom. She also demanded leave letters from the students.
That is not it, she also blocked a history lecturer who had delivered a speech on the occasion from entering the class. Following this, a complaint was filed against the lecturer with the principal.
However, the lecturer filed a police complaint against the history lecturer and approached the Women’s Commission claiming that she was subjected to mental and physical harassment.
