A local court sentenced a man to prison for obstructing government officials from performing their duties.

The accused, identified as Surendra, has been sentenced to 9 months and 10 days imprisonment along with a fine of Rs. 2,000. The judgment was delivered by the City’s Principal CJ and JMFC Court Judge Deepa.

The incident took place at Bellampalli village in Udupi talk when government officials were collecting swabs of primary contacts of a woman who had tested positive for COVID-19.
