Udupi police enforce rules for peaceful New Year celebrations

Udupi: Udupi SP Dr. Arun K. has issued specific instructions to prevent untoward incidents during New Year celebrations.

Celebrations are permitted only till 12:30 AM on December 31, with loudspeakers allowed only until 10 PM to prevent noise pollution.

Strict action will be taken against moral policing and inappropriate behavior, with special police teams deployed to address such issues.

The public is advised to ensure proper parking arrangements and avoid causing inconvenience to neighbors.

Citizens can report incidents by calling 112 instead of taking matters into their own hands.

Special teams will monitor for illegal activities, including drugs, rave parties, and misconduct in the city, the SP said.
