Udupi: Unlicensed stock of firecrackers valued at Rs 1.20 Lakh seized in Parkala

Udupi: In the wake of the recent tragedy in Attibele, Bengaluru, the state government is taking firm measures to ensure public safety.

On Wednesday, a joint operation involving the Manipal police station Inspector, Tehsildar, and Fire Brigade raided a provision store on the  Parkala main road, where a significant quantity of firecrackers was found stored without the necessary license.

During the operation launched based on a tip-off from a vigilant member of the public, a total of 766 kilograms of illegal firecrackers, valued at Rs 1.20 lakh, were confiscated.

More than twenty boxes of firecrackers were discovered in a godown located behind the provision store.
